Title of the Book: Into the Wild

 Star Rating: ☆☆☆
 Review:
Into the Wild is a heart-wrenching, adventure enthusing, and all-around wilderness junkie novel about a young man named Chris McCandless. It highlights his journey through life, and his thirst to be in a place untouched by man. It showcases his trials and tribulations--- the oddities that makes him so different from any other human being caught up in society. A star-studded, all around athlete and intelligent individual, Chris drops completely out of society after graduating college, and leaves his family and friends in the dust. He ventures out to the Alaskan back country, and it is all history from there.

This book is undeniably different from any other novel out there because the reader feels as if they were apart of Chris’ journey through life. They feel his emotions, witness his impacts, and understand his morals. But, not only does the reader feel this intense connection between them self and Chris, but also with the author, Jon Krakauer. He narrates his journalistic efforts to apprehend Chris, and his story. He also showcases a story of his own, making the reader feel as though that anyone can relate to Chris---even though he was unlike most individuals that make up modern society.

As a whole, this novel will have you questioning your morality, and the relationship you have with nature, and all that encompasses it. I would recommend this novel to anyone and everyone---as long as they can comprehend the depth of it, and apply their new found mindset to their own life.
