Review:
From a below poverty family, to becoming the greatest football running back of all time, Emmitt Smith remained strong in his faith says it is the reason for his success. Game On is a non-fiction book written by Emmitt Smith. In this novel, Emmitt recaps his life experiences and trials that he has been through in his walk with Christ. Emmitt Smith was not always in a place of fame or fortune, but began with very humble beginnings. From those beginnings, Emmitt would go on to set rushing records at the high school, college, and professional levels of football. His greatest achievement being the National Football Leagues all-time leading rusher.
When beginning this book, I was expecting to be reading a whole book about motivation and encouragement to dream big and achieve those dreams. While there is a lot of that, and Emmitt does it very well, there is also quite a bit of story telling as well. These interesting story's really help to prove the points Emmitt tries to make. The points are not about football, but about life and faith in God.
If you are looking for a book that will easily keep your interest from beginning to end, this is not the book fro you. If you are looking for a book about the life of a successful christian that shows you how he keeps his faith through the trials of stardom, then this is just the book for you. Emmitt Smith's Game On is a book of encouragement that should be read by anyone lost in life and looking for the right way to follow your dreams.
