 Review:

The Perfect Storm is a great book with a very intense story. This book includes many things that you would see in many other books. It includes mystery, romance, pain, anger, sadness, and many more things. This book is very factual and gives you a deeper understanding about fishermen. It goes into their daily lives and how it their fishing lives affect the family members they have. It also gives you a deeper understanding about the boats they go on for fishing. It will tell you what is on the boat and what the many different things do.
This book is about a crew that is going to go on a fishing trip and runs into hurricane Grace. It starts out by telling you about the crew. One in particular, Bobby Shatford. He is a fisherman who is divorced and had met a woman named Christine and fell in love with her. Bobby was about to leave again on the Andrea Gail for another fishing trip. He didn’t want to leave Chris but the money he’d make would help pay off debt and some things that he and Chris wanted. This book goes into detail about the preparation for going on a month long fishing trip and what things they would have to bring on board the boat. This story also includes what the men fished for and the things they had run into and had to be prepared for. The author clearly intended to find out what was going on with the families and on the boat during that time and he did a really good job.
I would recommend this book to people who are interested in learning more about fishermen’s lives and what kinds of dangers there could be at sea. In my opinion, this book was hard to keep up with at times and I couldn’t understand everything that the author was trying to say. I do think that if someone had more interest in this book, they would understand it better. I didn’t enjoy this book very much but that doesn’t mean that other readers won’t. This book has a lot of facts about fishing and hurricanes, that it was somewhat overwhelming to me. I did like the story of Bobby and Chris. I really liked reading about their relationship. I hope that more people enjoy this book and that I helped them get a better understanding of what this book is about.
